The Niagara Cutter RFM442 uncoated (bright) cobalt steel truncated rougher-finisher end mill for aluminum has a 36-degree helix and three flutes, and removes material in less time than conventional end mills while producing a finer finish than fine- or coarse-pitch roughers. The 36-degree helix angle makes the end mill suitable for machining aluminum or other nonferrous metals. It offers increased cutting action compared to end mills with lower helix angles, as it moves excess material quickly up the spiral and away from the workpiece. Truncated rougher-finisher end mills are special-purpose tools whose chip-breaking cutting edges create small chips for heavy cuts and remove more material in less time than conventional end mills.
